Overview

The South Korea Engineering study tour provides students an opportunity to undertake a broad study of the engineering environment within South Korea. Students will have the opportunity to engage with universities and academics, industry company visits, government agencies and visiting unique cultural attractions.

Destination Highlights

Bukchon Hanok Village

Is a Korean traditional village in Seoul with a long history located on the top of a hill between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. The traditional village is composed of many alleys, hanok and is preserved to show a 600-year-old urban environment.

Korea Demilitarized Zone

Take a poignant visit to Korea’s DMZ. This 240-km buffer zone separates North and South Korea and is one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world.  Visits include the Freedom Bridge, 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, DMZ Exhibition Hall and the Dora Observatory.

Lotte World Tower is one of Korea’s architectural crown jewels. The tower symbolizes the meeting of the modern with the traditional, natural and cutting edge technology. Soaring 555m into the air; with 123 stories, Lotte World Tower is home to Korea’s tallest observation deck, (at 500m) Seoul Sky.
