Overview

The Taiwan Science & Technology study tour provides students with an opportunity to undertake a broad study of the technology environment within Taiwan. Students will have the opportunity to engage with universities and academics, industry company visits, government agencies and visiting unique cultural attractions.

Destination Highlights

Sun Moon Lake

Located in central Taiwan, Sun Moon Lake is one of the only natural lakes in the country. It’s also the largest and arguably the most beautiful. Lalu Island divides the lake in two, with one part resembling a moon and the other a sun, hence its name. Natural beauty aside, the lake has an aboriginal history dating back thousands of years.

921 Earthquake Museum

The 921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan is a national museum in Wufeng District, Taichung, Taiwan. The museum is dedicated to the 7.3 earthquakes that struck the center of Taiwan on the 21st of September 1999. The museum is located on the site of the former Guangfu Junior High School; the shell of the building forms the exterior walls of the museum and the Museum’s Chelungpu Fault Gallery crosses the fault on which the earthquake occurred.
